Bury St Edmunds Rickshaw provides free rides thanks to its dedicated team of volunteers. Most volunteers do one 2-3 hour shift a week, at a time to suit their availability.

Riders

If you’d like to ride for BSE Rickshaw, or help behind the scenes, please get in touch. There are application forms below for riders and receptionists. We also would welcome help with our website and social media.

For more information, see the ‘Role and responsibilities of BSE Rickshaw riders‘ for riders who take passengers, and the volunteer cargo rider job description for cargo only riders. Complete the form below and we’ll be in touch.

Receptionists

Volunteer receptionists deal with calls in our virtual Control Room and send the jobs out to riders. It’s all computer based, so receptionists (we also call them Controllers) work from home. Full training and support given. Complete the application form below if you would like to apply for this role.

Chatty Chums

Chatty Chums can talk – and listen! – but most importantly, they provide companionship for solo passengers, sitting with them on the rickshaw to share the ride.
